Filmable officially launches in Vancouver during 41st annual VIFF
The inaugural launch of Filmable in BC was a big success! Founded by a deep collaboration between BOLDLY and Ceroma Films, Filmable aims to be a place to gather likeminded filmmakers to network, mingle, hype, gripe, think drink and make things... filmable.
The launch party, in association with VIFF (Vancouver International Film Festival), Creative BC, and Collective Bunch was held on October 7th, 2022, ultimately gathering BC based filmmakers participating in VIFF. It was a chance to get together, having some food and drinks, and just be filmmakers in a shared space. Hosted at the BOLDLY / Filmable offices in Mount Pleasant, the space packed over 120 filmmakers from all walks of life.
Besides the party (complete with bar service, DJ, patio space, food truck, and photo activations), Filmable aims to unite the community and break down siloes. To do this, a website has been launched to begin asset mapping for Filmable - with the goal of adding a united voice to often independent producers & directors in the face of government funding and grant opportunities. As a group, Filmable can sit at the table and represent the voices of many in the local community.

Filmable exists to help connect filmmakers in BC. To break down siloes and build up a community for sharing ideas, struggles, and support ultimately with the goal of making films more filmable.
Filmable is a non-profit society run by a group of local independent filmmakers who got sad after a long day of thankless and lonely work.
Filmable thanks Creative BC for supporting the inaugural launch in October 2022.
