Adolescence: an exploration of love and identity. The pressure to commit to who you are. The space to find it. We all remember our first love. That feeling of mustering up the courage to talk to someone. The dichotomy of how you feel vs. the space you spend wondering if the other person feels the same. Discovering the freedom to be as you are. The fear that comes with embracing your identity. The joy in letting that fear go.
Through a series of vignettes, Girlfriends, portrays a contemporary queer love story -- a teen's journey of self discovery, while facing the challenges of being young and queer. From the perspective of two unique characters, this video explores the different stages in accepting oneself and one's true emotions.
